Snoop dog on Monk.?!

Question:

Snoop dog on Monk.?

I'm watching monk, if anyone doesn't know what that show is its about a o.c.d detective who solves crimes. Any who its a show really for your parents and its funny, snoop dog is on the show guest starring, I was wondering how does everybody feel about this. Is he selling out or what?

Answers:

No he's not selling out. Snoop is an entertainer/performer of which he is predominantly known for rapping. However, acting is another one of his talents and gifts that Snoop used to get his message out like he did in films like: "Training Day" (Denzel Washington, "Bones" (Pam Grier), "The Wash" (Dr. Dre, George Wallace), just to name a few.

However, no one said he was selling out when he appeared in those other projects with a predominately white cast, so why should he be considered a sell-out for appearing on a popular show like Monk?

He didn't change his characteristics and personality to fit in and satisfy "The Man." As a matter of fact, he used a lot of his popular "Snoopisms" and phrases during that episode.

Not to mention that they even let him rap the "here's what happened" portion of the case instead of Monk, which no other guest star has done other than Snoop. I think his guest starring was genuine to his roots and fun/enjoyable to watch.

He actually opened the door for other rappers to appear on similar shows. This way people from the suburbs get exposure to him and other rappers without criticism. They can't put them down for making a talented performance and not acting childish and immature like younger celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and etc.

Snoop is a business man, so I think his appearance was a good thing for everyone all around.

Not to mention that he recorded the new Monk them song, "It's a Jungle Out There" in hip hop style, so he's remaining True to the hood.
