every body is trying to teach us that its ok to be curvy and not to be really skinny and that guys like larger women. if that is true then why are most (almost all) actresses and models skinny??

and why do the actresses in the movies or shows have to be skinny??

Fashion models must be skinny in order to make the dresses look good on them. It's a "must" requirement. I personally prefer a woman's body with more curves but I do agree that models HAVE to be long and thin. Just like ballerinas or ballroom dancers who have to be skinny in order to make them easier to move or for their partners when they have to lift them up in the air. Whether u like it or hate it, people just have to accept it.

For actresses...I honestly don't know why they have to be so skinny. Actresses often play the role of "ordinary people" in movies...well we all know that no ordinary people (esp in the US) look as skinny as them. They say that the camera adds 5-10 pounds. Maybe that's the reason why they're so insecure about their bodies.
