They're definitely not mother and daughter.
Baranski was born in Buffalo, NY in 1952 and has two daughters born in 1984 and 1987.
Hines was born in Miami Beach, FL, in 1965 but grew up in Tallahassee, FL.
But I can totally see how you would think they were related. Someone should consider casting them as sisters!
