Have you ever met a celebrity that you really admired...?
...and was a total jerk? Conversely, have you ever met one who was really nice?
Answers:
Went to something called the Texas Frightmare Weekend in Dallas recently, and met a whole lot of horror icons. For the most part, they were all just beautiful, down to earth people: Tom Atkins, Charles Cyphers, Adrienne Barbeau, Linnea Quigley, Nancy Loomis, Doug Bradley, Eileen Dietz, Jonathan Breck, Angela Bettis, Camden Toy, George Romero, Lloyd Kaufman, Ashley Laurence, Cerina Vincent, Barbara Nedeljakova and especially Caroline Williams! They loved to stop and talk, in and outside of the autograph and dealers' rooms.
Out of them all, the only negative experience was with makeup FX guru Tom Savini. He was a nice enough guy during his panel, when he received a lifetime achievement award, but up close and personal? Meh. Not so much. He signed pictures and took pictures with you like the rest of the celebs, but he was not about small talk at all. In fact, it was as if he preferred having hemmorhoids more than spending time with fans.
Other than that, it was a great experience!
