Do you find it hypocritical for celebs to speak out on causes like poverty...?
world hunger etc, when they then go out and spend large amounts on luxary items?
(I'm not specifically attacking her but i.e. Angelina Jolie speaks on multiple issues, but will spend many thousands on a crib or chair)

I agree Jolie isn't really that good an example, but I couldn't think of any others at the time

Most of the times, yes. But not all of them are unsincere or doing it for publicity (although I believe most of them are). Celebrities want a good name for themselves as in being known for having a good heart. So, they force themselves to do charity work or speak about good causes to get attention.
But eventhough Angelina may seem to be doing all that for publicity, I think she surely somehow deep inside care for people who are going through rough times. Otherwise, I don't know what she is made of!
