I heard he got shot by is cousin and died but i heard he went to college too......

all the talk about drug overdose etc - all false - they were just rumours.
After he left Blues Clues he reocrded a rock album and also started a career as a voice over artist.
In 2007, Burns landed the lead role of Otto Granberry -- a likeable, flesh-eating vampire -- in the undead office comedy, Netherbeast Incorporated.
And most recently, Burns played the title role of Amadeus in the 2007 season of the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.
so Steve is alive and breathing and his "brother" Joe (played by Donovan Patton so not his borhter in real life) took over the hosting role on Blue's Clues
