Queen is an English rock band formed in 1970 in London by Brian May, Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor with John Deacon joining the following year. They had moderate success in the early 70s with the albums Queen and Queen 2 but it was only when they released Sheer Heart Attack in 74 when they received international success. From that album forward all of their studio albums reached #1 on numerous charts around the world. Since 73 they have released 15 studio albums, 5 live and numerous compilation albums and have sold more than 300 million albums worldwide, 35.5 million in the U.S. Following Mercurys death and Deacons retirement in the 90s, May and Taylor collaborated with Paul Rodgers under the moniker Queen + Paul Rodgers.
