What happened to Olivia Lufkin and D&D (Dance & Dream)?!

Question:

What happened to Olivia Lufkin and D&D (Dance & Dream)?

It's been almost a decade since I listened to their songs Sunshine Hero and Shape Up. A few days ago, I just found out from a friend of mine that the song Rise in My Heart was sung by Aya and Chika of D&D and suddenly I wondered why they disbanded.

According to wikipedia, Olivia went solo but a friend of mine heard that Olivia left because she had issues with Aya and Chika. Is this true?

Answers:

Well, I think Olivia didn't want to keep making this kind of music anymore. She was chosen by Tetsuya Komuro to sing the Worldcup song (Together now) and then, I guess she had the opportunity to go solo. She simply took it. Seems like she doesn't really like to talk about this period. She often says that she was very young and didn't really know what was happening, that everything went too fast. She must have realized one day that she wanted to make real music.

She's now making very very different music. Her 2 first singles (I.L.Y yokubou and Re-act) were commercial pop with a rock feeling but since Dear angel, she's been writing her own lyrics and composing her music. Her album Synchronicity was a mix of alternative rock and experimentations, mystic songs (such as Soulmate or Liquid skies). Then she had 2 more singles and 4 mini albums that are her best work ever.
Last year, she started to make songs for the anime NANA. She came back to something more commercial but well, the story is quite complicated. Let's say that was the only way for her to make music again and gain some fans, some popularity. But she hopes she will be able to return to experimentations soon. A few days ago, she went to Paris for a concert.
