Who was the fifth Beatle?!

Question:

Who was the fifth Beatle?

If I gave any I would give it away.
Ok, He played at the Tribute for George Harrison & The Concert For Banglidesh.
Hint: Its not Pete Best.

Answers:

Well, since you want the one who played in that particular concert, you won't be concerned with Neil Aspinall or Derek Taylor, the two people that George, himself, called the ONLY TWO TRUE fifth Beatles.

One could also make an argument for Stu Sutcliffe who died in 1961 of a brain aneurysm. He was their bassist.

A stronger argument could be made for Brian Epstein, their manager. Paul claimed that if anyone was truly a fifth Beatle, it was Brian.

Even Klaus Voorman could be considered a fifth Beatle for his bass-playing on numerous post-breakup albums of the various members. There were even rumors of a possible band being made with Klaus replacing Paul, with Billy Preston joining also.

Which brings me to Billy Preston, who many say is the one and only TRUE fifth Beatle. His keyboard playing on numerous tracks, having received credit on albums and his long-standing friendship with the "Fab Four" lend credence to this claim.

Also one could lay claim to Eric Clapton, of all people. While My Guitar Gently Weeps anyone?

With all of those listed, however, I will have to go with Billy Preston, since he was at the Concert for Bangladesh and the Harrison tribute.
