According to the media, it was one of two things
1. Brad was ready to have children and start a family.Jen said she was too busy and didnt want to slow down
2. Rumors started that during the shoot Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Brad and Angie were spending alot of time together and their chemistry on set was more than it should have been. He was also watching and spending alot of time with Maddox.
I personally think that he's done so much better with Angie and that they are a beautiful couple.
