Answers: When I think of iconic celebrities (other than Elvis and Marilyn Monroe), I think John Wayne, Robert DeNiro, Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman, Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Lucille Ball, Willie Nelson, Lauren Bacall, Ann-Margret, Cher, Louis Gossett Jr., Robert Redford, Maya Angelou, Cicely Tyson, Bruce Lee, Paul Newman, Robert Duvall, John Candy, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Dustin Hoffman, John Travolta, Abbott & Costello, Alfred Hitchcock, Bob Hope, and so many more. :-) do one on Britney Spears They've been done to death and have become booring...

To all South Africans (not just the people of colour) he is an icon - he will be 90 next year and is still championing causes and raising money for charities.
But if you want Hollywood, try Leo Di Caprio or Angelina Jolie - gives you something other than their fame to talk about.
