Which of the Beach Boys are still alive, and do they stil tour?
Besides the beach boy who drowned (dennis i think right?) are the rest all still alive? I heard Dr. Love (Mike Love) died is that true?
Answers: I believe Mike Love is actually the only original one left, and I believe he still tours as the Beach Boys to this day.
Both Dennis Wilson & Carl Wilson are dead, and they, along with brother Brian, Mike Love and Al Jardine were the original Beach Boys.
Brian was in and out of the group for years (and in and out of therapy & medication) following the release of their masterpiece "Pet Sounds" which these days is held in the same regard as "Sgt. Peppers".
It's possible Al Jardine still plays with Mike Love, but that would be it for originals. Bruce Johnston has played with the group on and off since the 60's, though he's not an original, and he probably still plays with the group too.
Last I heard John Stamos was occasionally playing drums for them too!
Personally I would much rather go see Brian Wilson solo - he was the heart & soul of the group, created their sound and was really the genius behind them. Mike Love did have the voice of the group on some of their early hits, but beyond that, there's not much reason to go see what he calls The Beach Boys.
