Good question!!! Most people don't, it's the media that blows them up to be bigger than they are, and weak willed people jump on the bandwagon. But believe it or not, the majority of people couldn't care less. Because they don't value their own lives enough, and see there is a void there which is filled with the trivia of celebrity lifestyle - there is a degree of voyeurism in looking at their lives, and false perceived kinship in looking on at their troubles, as if we can relate them to our lives too - or to comfort ourselves by saying "at least my life is not that out of control...." People idolize them. They want to be them, so they wanna know everything about them. thats rich coming from a spice girl (although, my third favorite, after baby and posh) hows Kate Garroway's ankle? It's a form of depression that some people need to align themselves to something they perceive as better than themselves. In effect they are living their sad little lives through others. It's very common this day and age and even further exacerbated by the media for financial gain . . . morons copy their clothes, hairstyles, so on and so forth, which is a characteristic of weak people. The world is sadly is full of gullible fodder for the manipulative. MOST OF US DON"T They represent something that ordinary ppl dont have. Guess I'm one that does not give a monkey's about them! I agree I could careless about celebrities! I don't care what they eat, where they go, who they hare having sex with or if they are going to jail! I personally was thrilled they put Paris in jail she is no better than anyone else so if she did the crime she should do the time..and I don't feel sorry for Britney Spears either...but I wish those kids had someone better than her or Kevin F to look after them poor babies they are the true victims of this truely screwed up marriage! There seems to be a few of us on here that don't give a monkey's!! Thank goodness, I thought I was alone!! Do they ??? I dont, could'nt give a dam about any so called celeb, they are all up there arses. i dont think its an obsession with the celebrity as such, i think its more the lifestyle they lead and the desire for money and such things.

the reality sadly is that these people think that by being like the celebrity ie, same outfits, makeup, dinner etc they think they can soemhow be them, which isnt the case

im not a celeb but i do have a god job and always live within my means. i worked hard to get where i am today and im proud of what i achieved. i didnt get it by copying some celebs or crying everytime one went to jail.

i dont think paris hilton is fab, infact i think shes an idiot, if i went around drink driving without a license not only would i be disbarred as a criminal defence lawyer, id be sent to jail for a number of years

its shocking really I don`t think people care really it is just because it is Shoved under their nose that they take notice( pardon the expression) I think the media are to blame-ramming these so called ''stars'' down our necks.Not only do people copy their clothes,they often copy their dirty habits of drug & drink abuse.There should be restrictions on what the media report & how they do it. Actually majority of people don't 'care' about celebs. It's the press that are interested 'cause they need the latest scoops on the celebs for their mags or whatever. I don't think anyone actually cares about "celebs" its the media that constantly shoves them down our throats like a piece of candy. you can't help but to swallow and indulge yourself once in a while. It's quite sad actually. I hate the whole celebrity culture BS. I don't particularly blame the media, if there was no demand for it, they wouldn't print it.

So come on people - get a life!!!!! got nothing better in there lifes ,,COME ON WIGAN !!!
