Do you think Don Imus deserves to return as the rumors have been saying?!

Question: Before i continue i want to say that i for one was never a fan of Don Imus program. I was never into the stupid toilet humor that most of these morning shows are these days. That being said he has every right to come back. Yes what he said about those Rutgers women was wrong & i will not defend it but i have seen others do worse & are never reprimanded. Howard Stern exploits women on his shows but yet i don't hear the women's groups complaining about it. Opie & Anthony made a mockery of religion by having a contest where a couple ended up having sex in St Patrick's Cathederal. But yet somehow they where allowed to come back. If Stern & Opie & Anthony can do these things & not get punished or allowed to come back why can't Imus come back when he has already apologized for what has happened & has gone out of his way to make up for it? Again I'm not an Imus fan so this has nothing to do with me liking him.

What he said about those Rutgers girls was unspeakably awful, but I think that all those people out there who preach forgiveness and tolerance need to put their money where their mouths are, so to speak, and allow Imus at least the chance to redeem himself. He has been in the broadcasting industry for decades now, and it seems like it would be only right to let him try to rekindle his career and his fan-base after making what is definitely a stupid, bigoted remark. However, I don't see how what he said is any worse than what Howard Stern says about women, people with disabilities, and people with viewpoints differing from his own. Howard Stern makes so many misogynistic, sexist comments that I lose track just trying to count them in one hour. That's because, like Imus, he is a "shock jock"- his job is to say ghastly things that people in our sometimes overly-PC world dare not even think, let alone say. Just as you say, if Stern can get away with pushing the limits with religion, sexual orientation, sexism, etc. then Imus should be allowed one ludicrous comment about African-Americans, which didn't even make sense, since the women he was speaking about were clearly not "ho's," as he so eloquently put it. People need to get off their soapboxes and practice what they preach by exhibiting tolerance and forgiveness for people like Imus, or they need to turn off the radio when it gets to be too much. Of course he deserves a second chance, he never should have lost his job in the first place. I am not an Imus fan, he has rights too. If anyone should be banned it is Al Sharpton, the rabble rouse that has never done anything positive for society. No! He is totally Boring! Who wants to listen to a boring old guy with nothing to say! And his voice is so unlistenable for radio! If this were the first time Imus has done something like this I would say he definitely deserves another chance......But it's not the first time..........He's extremely offensive and has been fired from other places due to this..........He doesn't want to change his way and apologies or not he will continue to offend folks...........It's his way and his style.........As for Stern I can't tolerate him and would like to see him not only removed from the airwaves but from this earth completely..........He's not humerous, he's not showing any signs of intelligence and doesn't care who he offends...........I'm sorry but I'm not familar with Opie & Anthony so I can't comment on them but from your post I would think they're as bad as the other 2...........CAT Advertising will drive the decision......in morning-drive radio, it is advertising dollars as much as it is ratings. His morning show was tried at least three times on three different stations in Cleveland, OH, where he was a talk-jock for several years in the early 1970s, and it failed each time after real short runs. I can't believe any station/syndicator would want to hire him, but he was a revenue monster before the fall. Personally, I don't listen to any of the so called shock jocks. I think he should be given his job back. Not that I think what he said was right, because it was wrong. Look at the crap Stern gets away with & they give him T.V. time too! I have never heard anyone else appologize for the crap they call entertainment. The way I see it, the morals of a lot of people now days are in the sewer. There is a lyric from an AEROSMITH song that pretty much says it all.......... "There's somethin wrong with the world today, I don't know what it is." We're seein things in a different way and God knows it ain't his. We're livin on the edge. Ya called it right Squirrel, stupid toilet humor. Kudos to you!!!
