How come now all indian actress seems being so tall and the men becoming so shor!
Question: i am pretty impress and confuse too, i keep seeing new actress with such a tall figure keep coming to bolywood!!
like the newest deepika padukone, i heard that she stand for 5'9, and i am 5'9 too!! =(
then there is, sonam kapoor, which i heard stand maybe like deepika or more taller 1 to 2 inch!!
then you can see like, isha kopikar - 5'9!
mallika sherawat - 5'8!
bipasha basu - 5'8!
udita goswami - 5'7!
lara dutta - 5'9!!
and i just came to know that yukta mookhey is 6'0 tall!!
its cool, i love tall girls and it is a good sign, that even none of the hollywood actress stand this tall!!
and they are from india, none of the asian star stand this tall!!

may be because many times these ladies are the winners of the miss india competitions,which require special height.
Those are not super tall...even in India. Being tall is attractive...especially in western terms. Bollywood ladies are more scrutinized physically than the men, so some men can get away being not so tall or not so attractive. That being said, many Bollywood men are tall, and increasingly so.
I should think this corresponds to the growing stature of woman in the modern Indiansociety.She has now no bars that would stump her growth. She has now walked in fields where even males were fill recently afraid to tread. Look at Indira Nooyi,Mayawat. I think the trend in the films started from the heroine of Satyam,Shivam,Sundaram(The name keeps slipping me)Tall,slim heroines unlike their predecessors short, and plump.Well,perhaps that was the ideal of female beauty then. I recall a time when it was difficult for tall girls to get a suitable boy.Have seen some tall girls walking with a bent back to fall in the line of midgets

please, get a dictionary first, your grammer and spelling are terrible. years and years ago, male actors kept getting older and married and the female actors either stayed young and attractive or never married - supreme sacrifice. now, the rules are the same. the women have to meet higher standards of selection, ie- tall, articulate and able to conduct themselves well in public. the men, well, they should just pass the gender test!! recently, most actresses are ex-models or beauty queens and they have to meet the western criteria of beauty. the younger actors also are more tall and well built, neil nitin mukesh, kunal, abhishek, akshay, hrithik. actresses are not always tall - rani, kaajol, vidya balan, preeti zinta, amrita rao,madhuri dixit to name a few. but the same thing is true everywhere in every field of employment and sports.
becouse most of these girls are ex-models, and in medelling
industry there is a minimum height requirement, if u see girls who have no modeling background like priety zinta, esha deol, rani mukherjee, vidya balan, amisha patel, ayesha takia they r short or average in height.
same for the actors who used to be models they r quit tall too like john, arjun rampal, himanshu malik, sonu sood!
