Question: I mean it's no mistaken this chick took a nose dive off the fame pole and hit ever part of the pole on the way down... seriously though why do they continue to show past pictures of her or interviews of her when they are talking about her unless they have a picture of video of what actually is going on... I mean she doesn't look anything like she use..

She looks so messed up and different, they use the older "classic" images of Britney Spears in case those who are less interested in pop culture these days remember her. It's also for a bit of pity on her part from the difference of how she looked and how she looks now.
People don't want to see what she looks like now, they might turn off if her current face was on the TV all the time.
Because whenever they use past pictures. arn't they normally trying to sell something or advertising it. Nobody wants to buy anything with Britney's new lazy, deadbeat mum look.
