Basically this is what happened.
Ellen's partner got a dog. After a few months, it was still not getting along with their cats. So instead of giving the dog back to the rescue org. that she got it from, per contract, she gave it to her hairdresser and her children. When the rescue org. got wind of that, they went to the hairdressers home and took the dog back. That resulted in Ellen's pleading on TV and crazy people threatening death to the owner of the rescue org.
I don't know much about her, but she's kinda strange...
And I don't mean homossexualism. I mean her way of being is so bizarre, somehow...
Oh, please. What is this, second grade?
So sue her for having human emotions! It's gotten blown out of proportion because of the media - it was a slow news day that day and every media outlet went hog wild with it! Blame the media - not Ellen.
She's just living her life. I applaud her. She's done a lot of good in this world.

I also think the media blew this story out of proportion
I guess it upset her that she found a home for a rather rambunctious but loving little dog, and the lady who originally gave the dog to Ellen found out and took the dog away from the people. It must have really touched her heart. Sometimes when a woman is happy in her love life, she seeks drama elsewhere. I'm happy for Ellen!
I'm sure by now Ellen wishes she had taken a different approach. Unfortunately, none of us get "do overs" in this life.
