Tegan has a slightly wider face, and she has a labret piercing, which is between her lip and her chin, and she has 3 tattoos. She almost always wear dark clothing, while Sara prefers more colorful clothes. Sara has 7 black and white tattoos, and in older pictures, she has blonde hair and an eyebrow piercing.
Sara has a higher voice than Tegan, although the difference isn't really noticeable when they're talking, only when they're singing.
And yes, they are gay, both of them. Sara is married to a girl, too.
