If memory serves, I believe that song was called "The Adventure" by Angels and Airwaves.
You're right when you thought it sounded like Blink 182, because Angels and Airwaves is the new rock band for Blink guitarist Tom Delonge. They released their debut album "We Don't Need to Whisper" in 2006 with "The Adventure" as their first single.
Their sophomore album "I-Empire" is due to release on November 6.
