I must say I agree with you - who are we to tell her what to do with her body and her kid????

Yes I did smoke whilst having my baby - I could try and redeem myself here by saying 'oh but I did try and stop - and I did cut down....' but I won't - because I don't have to justify myself to anyone.

I think the best about this is the ones who are slagging her off ( although I am not her biggest fan - regardless of her smoking and drinking ) about what she is doing, are probably far worse behijnd closed doors than her!!

Remember people in glass house shouldn't throw stones - go and look at yourself first before slagging anyone else.

I bet you shop in Iceland as well.

What about the alcohol and the drugs? Does the unborn baby have a choice? I work as a midwife and have seen the effects alcohol fags and drugs have on these babies.

Edit
the reports actually state she was drinking alcohol along with the fags, also her performance on GMTV was not the performance of someone whos normal was it she was high on something.

Also her last baby was born a month early - very common in smokers and drug takers.

I fully agree with you it is her choice

I smoked during both of my pregancies .. i was actually told that it would be more harmful to the baby if i gave up

I cut down obviously but that was my own choice and was not forced upon me

Many years ago most women smoked during pregancy and the babies born were fine

This woman can do nothing right in the medias eyes and i am sorry but why should anyone be concerned ?

It is her baby .. her body

yes. too many self righteous judgemental types out there it makes me sick.

also, i tell people time and time again they can't beleive everything they read in the papers as the papers escalate everything as shock tactics (i'm an ex journalist, i know.)

i think these people have no lives of their own so make themselves feel better by pointing out the 'faults' of others.

of course its bad to smoke and drink during pregnancy, but that's not the issue here. if we could see into the lives of the people being judgemental i'm sure it would be obvious they are far less than perfect themselves.

well at least shes not denying it this time round.

yep agree - to be honest i dont give two hoots what she does while shes pregnant - just so long as my taxes dont have to pay to nurse the kid back to good health. bloody celebs - bloody media tho too!

i dont necessarily agree! kerry katona is in the public eye and is a role model to some girls (i dont know which ones but someone out there likes her!) she is setting a bad example!

I do ! Leave the woman alone who has the right to tell her what to do ? she's a grown woman.it's her business what she does with her life

your right she can do what she likes..but if the baby is born with health problems or a disability because of this will you wtill think she was right then?

its the way of the world today everybody has to have there nose in everyone elses business what she does has got nothing to do with us but hell its sell papers if it was you or me who would give $hit

i agree with you, the press will make an issue out of anything, just because someone is famous it doesn't mean they can't live how they want to,i'm not a fan of kerrys but i think the press should bog off and leave her alone,

yes i know but its just the press isnt it.... they dont have anything else to talk about so they make a story out of something completeley stupid!!

Although it is her choice to smoke, she should also be aware that smoking during pregnancy reduces the child's birth weight, might have some impact on intelligence and also suppresses the child's immune system. Her action is a selfish one as she has not considered the needs of her child, but one that as you rightly said loads of women do.

The reason why an issue is being made of it is because she has let herself become a celebrity and so has allowed herself to be judged publicly on her actions. If she is unhappy with that, then she either shouldn't have courted the fame machine or she should stop smoking when pregnant.

it might be her choice but what about her unborn child does he/she have a choice ??

It is her choice but by telling the media she is making it our business. Nobody asked her to tell us but she did anyway.

She has the choice to smoke but her baby isnt chosing it and you have to think about what if the baby is born with problems then what about all the doctors, nurses, medical treatment, etc it will need when it could all have been avoided.

Yes it is her baby but you wouldnt stand by and watch a mother poison their baby without saying something this is the same thing, she is poisoning her baby and whether or not you know her I dont think we should let child abuse happen.

i agree its her choice , it just shows what a selfish Muppet she is and i don't think its only smoking that shes up to either judging by her pathetic interview on GMTV. she needs to get a life.

Yes it's her choice to smoke.
But she's not giving her unborn baby any choice.
And if her baby is born with breathing problems, what will she say then?

The woman disgusts me.

It's another classic case of the public basing opinion on what they are being fed by the press. The media has once again manipulated the situation. I'm not saying she's a saint, far from it, but as you said, what business is it of anyone elses what she does?

she should really try to quit or at least cut down.

at the end of the day its not illegal and she is an adult, we all know its wrong for the baby but its her choice

Personally, (and I smoke), I think it is wrong to smoke during pregnancy. I gave up smoking the moment I discovered I was pregnant, and as my husband suffers from asthma, I did not want to increase my baby's chances of getting asthma too.

I did resume smoking a few weeks after the baby arrived, but was careful to smoke outside, and never around him. Even now almost 12 years after, I still don't smoke near him.

The fact is the woman has issues as it is and really should of thought twice about bringing yet another child in to the world.

I'm sure the kind of people that judge her are the people that did everything by the book when they were pregnant yet they still had problems or their baby was born with a disability of some sort and probably en-rages them that someone could purposely do something that could cause a problem.

It is her choice but will everyone be so empathetic if she suffers problems because of it?
