Because she has always acted really stuck up with the English press. For instance, she never smiles in photographs, whether posed or candids - a big no-no.
A lot of people also seem to despise her (out of jealousy?) because it seems, or she is portrayed as, constantly dropping thousands in designer shops, and wearing quite over-the-top couture outfits. You know, ones straight of the runway that no every-day person would wear.

well here we go, have you ever seen a more pathetic look that someone has constantly plastered over their mug? She isn't affected by all the bad vibes coming from her country, she knows too damn well, so does David, the guy was the most hated man in the UK at one point and look at him now he turned everyone round!
Personally I have seen her getting interviewed by Ali G and he tore her to pieces and she was a good sport so I liked her ever since.
She seems very down to earth, they both seem to be a good couple, I respect people that stick to their commitments, the Brits would like Victoria to be a Britney but she's definitely not, quite the opposite.
