Question: Im from australia and have watched a few episodes of Jerry Springer but i find it really hard to believe that there would be people like that in the world. Is it for real or are they all actors?

They're all actors, just like any reality TV show you can think of.
if it is, then so is cinderella. it's just as real as michael jackson's nose.

I would have said it's not real until I read an article about a couple and a mistress that went on it...the mistress supposedly had the GF shot and killed the day it was aired (in a nutshell), and I read this article in a valid news resource...so now I am not sure...
I got to see the show one time while I was in Chicago, and yes it is real. One of the funniest things I've ever seen in person.

I had 2 friends that went on the show.......they were paid for every punch thrown. The more they threw, the more money they got. Most of the situations are scripted, and then it's at the will of the people on the show to take it in any direction that gets the biggest reactions.
Some of the stories start out as a real situation, but get dramaticly pulled in another direction for ratings purposes.
Kind of like most reality tv shows that are out there.
