Question: Just before he screamed "FREEDOM!" and then got his head cut off on that table, what did they do to him?
In the movie on TV, they didn't show it. There was a sound like something had been cut or severed.

They cut off his testicles first, then cut out his lower intestines....sorry I know that's grewsome, but common in those days. It was called hung, drawn and quartered I believe.
I dont know if mel is a jerk in real life. I know he's got 8 kids and he's been married to the same woman for decades.

He seems to have a big ego, he is old fashioned when it comes to wife and family, and he has made a anti-Semite remark or two, if you think that equals a jerk....???
After they cut him open and pulled his intestines out onto his chest, he was beheaded, then tied to four horses, one horse per limb, these horses pulled until his limbs came free of his body. His limbs were then taken to "the 4 corners" of the country as a warning to others.
