They don't understand him. In the 1980's Michael made it known that he was the best there was going to be for a long time! So when the 90's came around, he was the at the top of the world, he was so big that no other music artist could touch him! The music industry needed a way to get other music artists in there, and the only way they could do that is by targeting some of Michael's eccentricities and blowing them out of proportion. Now, people base their opinions on Michael SOLEY on the stories they hear about him in the news. They don't realize that the media is trying to save their own butts by validating their claims against him in the 90's, and in order to do so, they only show us bad things about Michael.
