Some are, some aren't. It isn't easy to rap extremely quickly, with lyrics that make sense, and to a beat, and all in one breath. Look at 2Pac and the likes of him.

When it was a art form on the street it was great. But since the record companies have "bastardized" it it is mostly garbage now.

I say the ones that write their own raps are. I mean, it's hard to rhyme and still make some kind of sense, so yes some are very talented, some just don't have it and others are just wanna-be's anyway.
