Eddie wrote the majority of the music and David Lee Roth wrote most of the lyrics. This is why they share royalties and songwriting credit from the records Roth sang on.
i was on youtube watching videos of van halens new tour and he was playing guitar for the song, "ice cream man"
I don't think he ever wrote anything. He did write an autobiography though. And I think he did play the electric guitar.
