Not that I ever was a fan of Michael Jackson, but one should give credit where credit is due. I think back in his flavor-of-the-month days when he made Thriller, he was considered innovative, and he was indeed successful....
but he has long since rested on his laurels and he's gotten more bizarre as time passes on. I don't think he could pull off anything innovative or original musicially if he tried. So yes, he is overrated if only for that reason. If he came up with something new and fresh that made it on the charts, and eschewed all that weirdness, I might change my opinion, but I doubt it.

He was halfway tolerable back then, now that's he's morphed into an I-Don't-Know-What, and gotten so much bad publicity, especially in the case of legal matters, yes, NOW he's overrated!
You obviously do not have good taste in music. I'm sorry but that is some of the best pop music ever made. his last couple albums weren't that great but his early stuff is fantastic.
