Question: I know she is pregnant. I found out she is having her child with her 19 year old boyfirend, and she is 16. Wouldn't that be considred "innopropriate" relations with a minor? Somethinng that the idiot could be put in jail for? Anyone consider that?

Some states the age of consent is 16; maybe it is in hers. But why try to charge him; he needs to spend that money on her med bills and their child, not some lawyer and the system.

Yes it is illegal. But hes obviously not going to jail because of who she is. Which is completely unfair. It is true what you are saying though. NO one has really considered the fact that shes a minor and hes not. That's also a mistake made on Jamies part for why would she say that to OK magazine for if someone did consider it; her bf could possibly be going to jail .

according to some state laws it would be considered statutory rape because the age of consent is 18. some other states say that within a 3 year age difference is okay. or some laws states that the age of consent is 16. it just depends on the state at which the relations were taking place. If the law states that Jamie's relationship was at the 16 year old consent limit then most like her family won't press charges against the guy.
her mom let her dad a 19 year old guy....well she should have known they would do it...and it is illegal in most states..but unfortunately my 16 year cousin is dating a 32 year old man and its ok cuz being 16 makes her "of age" here in MI

It depends on exactly what state this happened in, really. It's possible he could be charged with statutory rape. However, a lot of states take the age span of the two people into consideration. For instance, if an 18 year old got a 17 year old pregnant, it's unlikely anything would happen in terms of being charged with a crime. In this case, 3 years doesn't seem that unreasonable to me. However, I suppose we'll need to wait on this to see how it turns out. If I had to bet, though, I'd bet against him being charged with a crime.
