Some shows do prefer to cast people with a resume...but this is Disney right? They want younger actors/actresses, how extensive can some of their resumes be? The only reason you may need an agent is because most established shows don't do open calls (meaning they let agencies know they are auditioning and then agents tell their clients). I know Canada is known for children's television and a lot of Canadian based pre-teen/teen shows air on Nickelodeon, Disney, and The-N in America...Perhaps become a member at IMDB.com and learn about open calls there. Look up some agencies in Canada and start small (commercials). Try out for more prestigious theater in Canada, lots of scouts go to large productions like that...if acting really begins to take off for you, you will build your resume and garner more attention from better agencies (hopefully) then your agency can look into roles in California for you. It will be up to you if it looks like you might need to relocate, but if you want it enough it's something you'll have to think about. Good luck to you though, and don't get swindled, some agencies want your money and that's all, really look into it. Get some headshots done and shop around, if it's meant to happen it will, and location will mean nothing.

I've been wanting to act in the Disney Corp. for a while. I would say just go for it! You never know until you try. I'm sure that you will get a roll. Good luck! (=^.^=)
