Did you ever notice how people will stop and look at a car crash? Same thing.
because she the girl next door. she reminds us of sisters, cousins, friends etc. she was once beloved and innocent. and people want her back the way she was. healthy and strong
Because she was such a superstar and worshipped by so many young girls and because she professed to be so clean and pure... its a huge tumble to get to where she is now.
I think a lot of people can't wrap their heads around how she could go from one extreme to the other. Every time she hits a new low, people are shocked. That's why there is interest.
Because society has always cared about famous and/or legendary people. It's been going on for years. Just like people went crazy over Elvis, Jim Morrison, The Beatles, Andy Warhol, ect!

Because everyone should care about everyone in the world. When people see what she is doing to herself and her kids they want her to get help. Think of how bad the world would be if everyone just said screw Britney she did that to herself, just let her go die! That would aweful!
