They are not sure if he died from overdose of drugs. Some of his friends were saying he wasn't alone. Apparently he was and there was drugs and drug paraphaenia in his home. They are doing an autopsy though to find out. He might have relapsed. It was a pity. He was a decent actor. I liked him in Apt Pupil. Such a shame. RIP Brad Renfro 1982-2008.
Did he die from an OD? I dunno (assume there's a connection to his drug use though), but I'm a little sad about it too.

Yeah, he couldn't stop doing the heroin. I always kinded liked the kid, because he had the same birthday as me, July 25, however, his was from 1982, mine 1973. He had talent, he was really good in Sleepers. This should be a wake up call for Lindsay, Britney and the rest of the young Hollywood crowd, drugs and alcohol in excess will kill. Everything in life should be in moderation. RIP Brad
Yes, it appears that he did. It is very sad when this happens to someone so young.

Why do people waste their talent on drugs. I hope his family is ok because this mst be the toughest thing to go through especially when something sensless like drugs takes your kid.
