Question: it was before thriller but after off the wall. it was a rare tv appearance that i just happened to see. he was dressed in a tight pink jumpsuit and had three female backup singers behind him with afros as big as his.

Is there anyway it could be the song "Get On The Floor" ? there is a verse that goes "I love the way you shake your thing", sometimes his southern accent and the speed in which he sings his lyrics make certain verses sound totally different than what it really is. Just a thought.
