The precise cause of death is uncertain until the full autopsy is completed in several days. However, police suspect accidental drug overdose, possibly from sleeping pills.

I was a big fan, too. The world lost a great actor and human being the day Heath Ledger died.
He passed away in NY around 3:40pm. They're doing another autopsy soon.
yesterday they found him at like 330pm eastern time in his apartment and they dont know how yet they're sayin accidental overdose or suicide but what alot of ppl dont know is was sick with pneumonia
he died in his apartment by an overdoes of sleeping pills but they have not yet discovered if it was suicide or accident but i would say you would have to take an awfull lot of sleeping pills to kill yourself so i say it's suicide
Aparently he took too many sleeping tablets.

yesterday about 8:50 (australian time), he had an overdose on drugs/pills, the maid found him in the apartment naked, and on his bed,
I am devastated What a horrible incident He has been one of my favorite actors since his first appearance on TV- To answer your specific question - It was on CNN for a few days - The Death looks Accidental He has been on pain Killers for it seems to be several years due to an injury.
