I think protests at ANY funeral should be banned. This is not an issue of "free speech"; these protests are clearly "hate speech". Regardless of your views of the deceased, every family has the right to morn the loss of their loved ones without being cursed and mocked! As a Christian, these horrible displays of ignorance under the guise of "Christianity" just make me ill. The "god" that these people are "serving" is certainly not the God that I serve. Shame on these people!

He has the right to a funeral like any human. These anti-gays are just afraid and stupid.
It is just another form of religious extremism. Religion has a way of clouding people's judgment and dividing people at times. Clearly the people who will participate in the demonstrating do not know the difference between fact and fiction.

That would be very ridiculous for her to protest. She should really think of how Heath's family feels and what a hard time they are all going through. Losing someone is very hard. Fans will be there, etc. She should really look at how she would feel if someone was protesting at her funeral. A very sad event that will be turned into ridiculous by someone looking for attention.

At the end of the day, he was a man. A fellow human being who died in a tragic way, before his time. The man is entitled to a funeral just like anyone else.
The homophobic set up within the Church is ridiculous. Should be worrying more about real issues in the world, rather than people's bedroom preferences.
I think it is horrible. He was an actor. Hr was playing a role. It was one role out of his career. And because of that, his funeral is disrupted. I hope those people find some better to do by the time another Hollywood actor dies.
I despise the ones who take religion and Christianity to make it their soapbox to voice their opinions on stupid stuff. These protesting people who want to picket the funeral are not Christians (even if they think they are), unless they belong to the church of NUTCASES. I'm a christian and would never judge anyone like they do (however, I'm having a hard time NOT judging them). Heath Ledger is gone....let him rest in peace.
