David blaines next stunt - impossible!?!
Question: I've just read that for his next stunt in may 08, david blaine is planning to stay awake for - wait for it - 12 whole days and nights! No sleep at all. Not an iota. That is simply absolutely physically impossible for any human being to do.
It's one thing to be drowned, frozen and buried alive (which only a superhuman could do - and even david failed at his drowned alive stunt) but to try and go 12 whole days without any sleep is madness to even try. I predict he won't get past 4 days at most. If he did succeed it would just prove he is an alien, (which maybe he is) because no human can do that.
I am a massive fan of David's street magic and stunts (vertigo was my favourite - incredible) but this is a bridge too far. And he is bonkers to even attempt it in my view. What do other people think out there?

I believe you 100%. I mean, he failed at several tricks, which is fine because we know that they are near impossible, but 12 days awake?! That is madness. He is a great magician, but attempting this feat would be a danger to his sanity and health. I am trying to be as logical as I can, by saying he is endangering his health by not allowing his body to rest for so long.
I hope he tries not to attempt this, and If he does, I wish the best to him.

Not so impossible I think I remember a show a few years back that was based on that idea UK show...can't remember the name...
Not a huge fan of his either...at a certain point and have to wish he'd just go and get a real job or at least do something usefull with himself for a change!!
Maybe for his next trick he could maneurvre his head into his own @ss passage and stay like that for 170 years.
That sounds like he has done the impossible, actually found a stunt more boring than when he sat in that box and didn't eat. Why doesn't he go over Niagara falls in a barrel proper old school.

I think I read that the human body can "survive" for about 6-7 days without sleep and then it just shuts down. I am not sure how you would even start to condition your body to take the stress and carry on working narmally. The mind starts to halucinate and the vital organs must shut down involuntarily. I would say this is just about impossible, only he knows!
I have mates who have done 3 days without sleep and they were just messed up!
I didnt know that. I saw David in London when he did his box thing stunt. Yes he did wave at me!!
But this is going a little too far. BTW when David finished the "box stunt" what did he do?
Saw him in NYC last year in Times square.
It was a benefit for low income ~ poor kids through Target and a bunch of kids got a shopping spree.
So I feel he is not a twat or any of the negative things people have said.
He is an entertainer, and an awesome one at that.
I dont think however that he can stay awake that long but would love to see him try.
We have also said he is an alien or not of this world. There is something very "different" about him.
Edit~ Hey Wendy he waved to me in NYC while the firemen were helping him pee through a tube. Hes mesmerizing.

I think C4 made a series called Shattered some time back. And there were fears then that making people stay awake for even 3 days solid could actually kill someone so they watered it down to allow them 2 hours sleep a day.
The winner Clare did 176 hours under these conditions.
He's really really weird. He did an interview awhile back on GMTV he certainly acted like he was away with the fairies. It was Eamon Holmes who interviewed him and he said it was the worst interview he had ever done because David just stared at him alot and wasn't very responsive.
The lengths some people will go to for five minutes of fame is incredible.
