In the case involving Jordie Chandler, Michael Jackson settled out of court, NOT because he was guilty, but because he was innocent. There are several reasons why he settled out of court, I will focus on the most explainable reason to shorten things up:
The civil trial against Michael would have been scheduled BEFORE the criminal trial, which specifically goes against Michael's 5th ammendment rights. Why? Because the civil trial is open to the public meaning that Tom Sneddon, District Attorney of Santa Barbara county, could watch the civil trial predeedings and use the facts brought up by the defense as information to the criminal trial. So say for instance the Defense used the evidence that Evan Chandler administered the drug sodium amytal to his son and the defense went on to get experts in the drug field to verify sodium amytals effect on memory, Tom Sneddon would be one step ahead for the criminal trial by finding people who would testify that sodium amytal is a "truth sierum" Another fact about the Jordie Chandler case is that it is wrong to say that Michael Jackson bought their silence. Evan Chandler made it clear that he wanted money from Michael Jackson in the beginning. He requested money from Michael and when Michael refused to give it to him, he brought up the idea of molestation charges. If Michael actually had done something wrong, why would he have waited so long, went through a strip search, had officials investigate his house and had his name dragged through the mud? He wouldn't have, he would have given Evan Chandler the money in the first place.
Moving on to 2003 and Gavin Arvizo. To give some background on the Arvizo family, Janet Arvizo had previously sued JC Penney's for alleged assault and molestation. In which her sons Star and Gavin testified and were later proven to have lied on the stand. During Star Arvizo's testimony, he explained the molestation act that Michael had supposedly performed on Gavin Arvizo, while I will not go into details I can tell you that it was a completely different story than Gavin told. One big flaw in the prosecutions case is the time line of events. Tom Sneddon claimed that the molestation occurred AFTER the airing of the Martin Bashir "Living With Michael Jackson" documentary. Sneddon claimed that after the airing of the documentary, Jackson's people did everything in their power, including forcing the Arvizo's to make a rebuttal video in which the Arvizo's claim that everything stated was coached by Jackson's team, however here's where it gets interesting, according to Sneddon and Gavin Arvizo, the molestation occurred AFTER this series of events. If Michael Jackson was already being questioned by almost every news media outlet about his involvment in Gavin Arvizo's life after the Bashir airing, WHY would he molest the child during that time? Why would he put himself in that position when people are already questioning his actions? The time line makes no sense. Lastly, not only did Gavin Arvizo's testimony greatly vary from his brother's, but it also varied from his own previous grand jury testimony in which he claimed that the molestation happened before he saw officals who were investigating Michael due to the Bashir documentary, while during the criminal trial Gavin claimed the molestation happened AFTER the officals investigated.
Again, I'm sorry this is so long, but hopefully some people who have been mislead by the media's lack of coverage of the trial will read this and realize how BOGUS both accusations really were.
