That money could have been used for something useful, like say starving children, the cure for cancer, ummm i dunno maybe a brain implant to replace the one that thought it was a good idea. Scientology is the biggest bologna. A man created the "religion" just to show how people will believe anything, and yep it worked.

Well believe it! I think that from what I have heard about Scientology, the church basically worships the celebrities, not exactly just worship but they give them this attention, like they will do anything for them...It's weird to explain but obviously its not right...

Imagine you have spent the last 25 years or whatever giving your voice to a boy who never grew up, who is yellow and has a mother with four feet high blue hair and the only smokers left on television for aunts, would you be a total nut job by this point? Yeah I thought so you agree, she is obviously as unhinged as I thought. Scientology is the biggest crock out there especially as it is based on the drug induced ramblings of L. Ron Hubbard written down by his son and turned in to (I have to admit grudgingly quite good) Sci Fi novels from which a religion has spawned. Loopy, they'll have us believe that a virgin gave birth to the son of God who changed Humanity forever then died and rose from the dead and died again next!! Tut tut who believes this rubbish.

Well, in Scientology they're not really donations; what happens is you have to pay them a certain amount of money in order to move up to the next level. They pay in the form of donations (probably to dodge paperwork), and then start receiving the next level of "therapy" or "classes" or what have you.
Anyway, this is why it's very profitable to really focus on converting celebrities; they have a ton of money and are easy to spiritually sway. Additionally, Scientology preys on those with a belief that they are under stress.
