Success is a mixture of things: An actor has to know what they want. They cannot be particular about the parts that they initially get, neither can they get discouraged when they are waiting tables for a couple years in order to get the big break. On top of having talent and tenacity, they must have a great agent who can market those qualities appropriately. This is not the easiest road to take if the actor just wants fame and fortune.
An actor to be successful no.1 must stay alive.
1a. Have a role in a movie that gets positive attention from the public and in the media.
No 2: Significant others must at some point believe the actor has talent.

4. Youth & beauty in the extreme don't hurt.
5. Zeitgeist, being the right person in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing, & inspiring interest by embodying the expression of what's currently considered hot or "in" & let's face it that's a huge variable.

7. Not be overly interested in being a success but have some higher motive like really portray a charactor well, tell the story or communicate a love message to the world
