i totally agree with you. i am not 14 (i'm older) my niece is 4 and she loves her! and everyone loves her too and i cant stand her show, music specially her voice!
i am 19 and still think her show is pretty cool and funny. it it bothers you, look at it from this point of view: she dresses better than bratz and is a much better role model than paris hilton or one of the spoiled rich brats.
and disney is cool for teens and adults too. you just gotta be a kid at heart. so is nick, really!

Hannah Montana is not a character first of all she is a human which makes her an actress. She has a wonderful talent that not many people have. I am 20 years old and I watch disney channel all the time. The show are interesting and entertaining. They are not babyish at all. By the way Hannah Montana has a real name and it is Miley.
everyone loves her because her tv show is the best on disney and that says something lol. most disney shows are so lame, and boys love her because she is cute. but she lipsinks, and her acting skills arnt all that great either, her voice is so so, but yeah .
I am 17 and i watch once in a while the disney channel, sometimes i watch HM and its OK. But to be honest she needs some acting lessons, and to stop singing about how she is two different people.

girls in their early teens look for someone to admire... many of them are too immature to watch primetime tv but are too old to be into cartoons. the disney channel is a good option for them at that age. a lot of them just follow the trends of what people around them like because it's hard to be an independent person at that age. it will always be like that. no 14 year old wants to be an outcast in middle school, so they find something to bond over with other kids their age, and then the thing just grows and grows and grows. it's like how hilary duff was when she was on lizzie mcguire. now she is older and she has pretty much lost her appeal to the younger crowd. when miley cyrus grows up, she will be replaced by someone else.
there are a lot of reasons why she may have became so popular, her acting talent is questionable, but she is not the worst singer in the world. girls just need an idol is all.
(however, i agree it does get tiring for us older/mature people)
