From the opinion of this book I read, she was murdered by the FBI as a conspiracy to make it appear the Kennedys had done it. The FBI was pissed at the Kennedy's for the way they dealt with the Bay of Pigs incident, and thought that by framing Robert Kennedy for her death the affair between he and Marilyn (as well as his brother) would be exposed and tarnish their names and reputations. I highly recommend you check out the book, its great!
She overdosed on drugs & alcohol. No mystery there.~~
Bobby Kennedy had her killed because she was too much of a liability to his brother with whom she was having an affair.
That she and JFK were having an affair has long been established, but she was an alcoholic & drug addict with increasingly erratic behavior, and that behavior was becoming a threat to JFK, who of course was President at the time, and thought to be happily married.
Bobby stepped in and took care of the "problem", most likely with help from Peter Lawford.
She overdosed and died. What's the mystery?
Everyone already knew she was having affairs with both JFK and Bobby Kennedy, so that "Kennedy's had her killed" conspiracy theorists are way out of whack.

She got sick and tired of being sick and tired and just drowned herself in drugs and alcohol. Noone will ever know FOR SURE on this at all so it will always be a mystery0 kinda like Anna Nicole Smith- Marilyn Monroe was her idol and its amazing how they died in almost identical ways isnt it?????
