mustaine used to do drugs but besides him others just used to drink like horse. and james went to rehab for his alcoholism
Well it's well known that Dave Mustaine was a human chemical dump at one time...but not sure about the other members.

yes hetfield did the song master of puppets is about his cocaine adiction "chop your breakfast on a mirror" s one line that says to me he was taking it all the time the good news is he is over drugs now but he also used to have an alchohol adiction this is what the song "sad but true" is about and the answer above what says one of the band members died from drug abuse they didnt cliff burton died in a tour bus accidet not from drug and alchohol abuse
Yeah, several of them admitted it in a Docu-Clip after saying Hetfield was their wake-up call....by the way the person that said half your teachers probably smoked pot...it was probably more than half, and your parents probably did too...
