Why do so much people like Johnny Deff?!

Because he is an actor in a world of pretty boy models who attempt to be actors. In the arrogance of Hollywood's 'I can make anyone a star' mentality, alot of crap is thrown out there. Yeah, anyone can be a star. Not just anyone can be an actual actor though. Tom Welling- Superman of Smallville? Nice guy, great personality, even intervened in a crime once in real life which wins alot of respect from me. But he is not an actor. Sorry. Compare he or 'lex Luthor' to Lionel Luthor, who actually does act fairly well. Note the difference in depth and the number of emotions they can more realistically portray.
So we have Johnny Depp who I once hated due to the material he worked in which was teenie TV 'ain't I cute' crap which I seriously despise. Later he started doing more the independent film thing, more odd, more obscure sorts of work, going with Danny Elfman and Tim Burton, weird as they are, they are artists... and Depp showed his true colors and ability.
He acts his own way instead of fitting into hollywood's pre-scripted stereotype method that is so f'ing annoying. THIS is how a gangster acts, THIS is how a cowboy acts. Well, Depp does his own take. Disney was NOT AT ALL happy with his portrayal of a pirate in their films. Yeah, you know what? It was far from an ordinary portrayal, far from the boring stereotype...
but not only was his portrayal different and unique? It was freaking entertaining and downright funny and worked amazingly well throughout the films. What should have rightfully been a cheesey role turned into something unique and fun.
Depp may have had lame beginnings, but I have to admit he got good, and I'll have to offer the man my respect.

It's Johnny Depp and I like him as an actor but he's not hott.

Jonny Depp, not Deff. Lol. People like him so much because he is a wonderful actor, and kind of hot(for me if he was younger...). He recently played Sweeny Todd, where he actually sang(and he has a great voice). He has been in many completely different parts in soo many different movies and he plays them all very well. The two movies I suggest most(if you want to see how great his acting skills are) are Sweeny Todd and Finding Neverland.
Johnny depp, i do not really like him, but enjoy the characters he plays in movie roles, people only like him because he is a movie star.

Johnny Depp is the best actorr everererrererere.
My reasons, I'm not a huge fan though:
1. He's a fantastic actor yet very modest.
2. He won my respect and made me a fan of his personal life as well with leaving America, moving to France just for his girlfriend. And learning French just to speak to Paradis's parents.
3. He's not after advertising. He's selective about the tv shows, even award ceremonies.
4. It seems like he's just interested in 'acting' not fame, popularity, fortune or sleeping around.
5. He's proud of his choices.
There may be people who not like Depp but everyone should respect him. That's what I think, anyway.
