Answers: i think its so noone can stalk them or get the personal info....am i right or wrong? if im wrong then why do they?

Perfect examples include:

Daytime soapster Michael Damian Weir(CBS' "The Y & the R");he was told NOT to use his REAL last name for society-based reasons...

Former '80s teen actor Jon Andre Gower...he was just "Andre" to his fans...

David Jones(lead singer of the '60s rock band the Monkees):real last name is Smyth(?)

The Beastie Boys:Adam(King Ad-Rock) Yaouch, Michael(MCA) Diamond and Adam Horovitz...

Dana Owens(y'all know her as Queen Latifah)

Calvin(Snoop Dogg) Broadus, Jr....

The Griffin brothers(Nathaniel, aka Nate Dogg, and Warren, aka Warren G.)...

Miley Ray(formerly Destiny Hope) Cyrus...sorry, but I HAD to put that in, or else face the wrath of those Miley-fanatics!...

...and others TOO many to list here...

That could be the reason for some. For others it may just be that they don't like their real names so they want to have cooler names to go by.

They must belong to certain unions and organizations. If there is already someone who is using their name, they must change it. Has nothing to do with being stalked.

Marketability. Their names are changed by industry people. The names are selected for public appeal or to stand out.

yes ur right..and also I think they use a screen name to have a better recall on the people because some of their real names are hard to pronounce and some are forgettable :)

bcoz of many reasons like they are not confident that with their original name they can succeed in bollywood,or may be due to their pandit or guru suggested to change name if they want to have a bright future

That could be a motivation, but an alias would be a pretty poor defense against stalking. More likely, somebody famous already has their name and/or their name is hard to remember or they don't like it much. Like Stuvalinscavitch might be a worse name for an actor than Stewart, so they'll use Stewart, though that's not really their name, or a Rosinavitch might use just "Rose".
