Should the home of the Carpenters be saved?!

The current owners are tired of the house being viewed as a "shrine" and want to demolish the childhood home of the famous brother and sister singing duo Richard and the late Karen Carpenter. Fans want it preserved as an historic monument. What you think?

No. It is now owned by a private family who has the right to do whatever they wish with the home. Those that wish to save it, may offer to BUY it from the current owners, but they cannot dictate to them what can be done with the house.
Why should it be a historical monument? They sang and played drums and piano-they didn't cure cancer or find the meaning of life! That's just ridiculous!
yes it should be saved.But seeing how Richard dont want it then its up to the owners.

If the house is in good condition, I do not think it should be destroyed. I understand where the new owners are coming from, however: they bought the house KNOWING who the previous owner was. Surely they expected SOME notoriety. But then if people see it as a shrine, perhaps they could just charge a fee for fans to come in and check it out. That way, they can make a little money and move to a different house.

Call the L.A. Conservancy and get them to force the City of Downey to SAVE THE HOUSE!...NOW!!!...
Seems like it would be a waste of a good potential tourist attraction not to save it! If it was me, I'd be seeing $income$!
