Is Leonard Peltier innocent?!
Question: I'm feeling somewhat pressured to make my mind up about this certain issue; whether or not Leonard Peltier is innocent or not. It seems many people I know have strong opinions, that he should be released, or he did, at least, not commit the murders.
On one hand, after doing quite a bit of research, I suppose he was involved SOMEHOW. Has he ever admitted being involved at all? Also, if he didn't murder the two FBI agents, who did?
During the time of the murders, Mr. Peltier was wanted already, correct, for shooting at a police officer, right?
So what I'd like to know is, do you think he is innocent or guilty? Why do you think that? Why does it seem that so many celebs think he's innocent? I give best answers, for the most informative. Go ahead and shout out your opinion, but PLEASE tell me why you think that - thanks so much!

Leonard did not kill those agents, even the FBI admits that! It is their job to figure out who did the killing. That to this day, they are unable to do so shows how inept they are. I belive that Leonard knows who was involved and for that he has more than "repayed his debt to society".
The fact that the goverment was actively involved in counter intelligence against AIM proves they knew that a state of war existed, thus the agents were casulties of that war. The agents were on Soverign Indian Land [not US territory] and thus were enemy combatants. People die in war.
In any event, Leonard was jailed because he was a leader of his people, has stayed jailed because he as a matter of principle did not point the finger at the killers and the FBI is not good about admitting when they make a mistake.

I believe he's innocent of the crime for which he's in prison. I don't know about any other crimes.
