Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a good actor. I like him on The Tudors and I thought he did a great job as Elvis Presley in that miniseries on HBO. He is fairly attractive as well.

I find actors from the U.K. often work extensively in theatre to hone their skills. If they happen to be good-looking, that's just an advantage for them.
In comparison, many of Hollywood's pretty boys tend to be former models, athletes, or pop singers who only get acting roles because of their looks.
