When will the Academy give Johnny Depp his Oscar?!
Question: far as I know Johnny Depp has been nominated 3 times & stunning performances each time. Are they scared he's going to pull a Wounded Knee stunt, like his pal Marlon Brando,? They would rather give it to a foreigner than one of their own & what's with the bad press, just recently ? &....... joining the dots here, the critics putdown of Mr Depp's directorial debut "The Brave"l et's not be naive folks, surely they are playing politics not entertainment . What do others think about this?

NEVER, until he stops behaving like a snotty brat and moves back to the US. He also needs to wash the grease out of his hair more than once a year.
He needs to take on a part as a retard, cripple, or lunatic before he'll win. I also think he lowers his credibility by starring in those pirate movies.
The Oscar people are weird, so he may never get one. I think Ellen Page should have got the Oscar, not some random lady from another country that I've never heard of....?

Johnny Depp is very talented. Perhaps the academy will give him his due next year.
They will give him an Oscar, as soon he is the best actor in a movie. He has been good, but not as good as the other in the same category. Only time will show.
He's an AMAZING actor (to the first answer) - It's probably good he hasn't won, he hates awrard shows like that and is in it stricktly for the acting, plus everyone who wins these awards go on to do flop movies, just look at Halle Berry ruining the Catwoman character.
He clearly was the best, political award. The writers cant even help themselves from writing about Rep and Dem. The show should have absolutely nothing to do with the elections. I know it is a different kind of politics, but annoying anyway. The only reason I watched was to see a great actor have his moment. I dont even want to watch anymore. He has class for showing up every year.
Maybe he is not a good actor, maybe someone is more deserving of the Oscar and maybe the Academy is tired of him.

The Academy is overrated; those who know and actors across the board will tell you that Johnny Depp is an excellent at what he does. They only pick a fraction of those who truly deserve it; otherwise, John Goodman would've been nominated and would have won for the role of Walter Sobchek in The Big Lebowski. I can't really say that they are entirely politicized, but I am sure that those members of the Academy have had some palms greased.
too many people are jealous of him.....he's a great actor.
I like Johnny Depp, but he is just no comparison to Daniel Day Lewis acting wise. Johnny hasn't had "the" role that would get him the oscar yet. Maybe after he matures more in his movie roles. His time will come.
