1. It's Craig Ferguson.
2. Letterman hired him.
3. Before this job, he was once a guest on O'Brien's show and had Conan practically rolling on the floor laughing.
4. He's not British, he's Scottish, having just become a US citizen in the past month.
5. Call me an old lady if you want to, but I'm in LOVE with Craig Ferguson. (I'm old enough that in MY day, I was taught how to spell and punctuate.)

i happened to like the interview between him and Marion Cotillard.
Some people like his "British Charm" I guess....probably old ladies like you said.
Sometimes he is funny, lately he just seems tired.
First, he is Scottish, not British! And he is now a proud citizen of the U.S.
Second I don't know any old ladies that stay up that late let alone would approve of his often crass humor.
And third they all have bad nights!
It's been months since I've seen the show.
He is charming.
