How can singers be famous if they cant sing?!

Oh my God, please don’t even get me started! I was a vocal performance major at a very reputable music conservatory and every voice major in that school could sing circles around every single so called “artist” to ever hit the airwaves (aside from classical singers). It’s so sad how terribly the “music” that is popular and on the radio is really in a never ending downward spiral.
To answer your question though, I believe that these days it’s about 1% talent 10% looks and 89% who you know.
And they sing so poorly live because their producers work endlessly at making their albums sound decent. There is so much that can be done with recording these days it’s ridiculous. They also have tons and tons of takes and chances when they’re recording to sing every note to the absolute best of their ability, so it’s really an inaccurate depiction of their true talent….or lack there of.
By the way they look. Some people just love their bodies. Not our fault they sound like crap & still can make a singing career out of it
With today's video and Internet connections, it's more what you look like than what your talent is. If you wiggle good, who cares if you are on tune....That's why I turn it ALL off
Gossip, marketing of their album, their crazy personal life..You need to be glamorous in Hollywood not talented..Sickening isn't it?

This is a great question, altho the answer is pretty simple everything in todays culture revolves around "looks" or personal appearance if you will, such as when you goto a job interview they first judge you on the way you look or when you are out and about people will look at you and make some sort of mental subconcious judgement just by the way you look this is why so many people want to have perfect bodies like they see on TV and everyone is so diet crazy because whether you or I or anyone likes it or not thats the way the world is everything is about looks it has nothing to do with talent, so if Betty Joe Farmer can sing like an Angel from Heaven but Stacie Sexpot looks like an Angel from Heaven altho she couldn't sing to save her life then she would still be more likely to get a Music deal just because of how she looks =( "Sex Sells"
By the way they look and also a certain "X-factor". Musical ability is of secondary importance - they can always lip-sync! Lol
Its all about the looks, sex image and personality nowadays.
Nothing to do with talent.
Who needs to be able to sing when they look good/different, their stuff will sale, theyl make good press, and with nowadays technology.
