I agree with you completely and I wish I had an answer for you. She's only famous because other people make her that way.
She doesnt write her own songs, she doesnt make her own decisions...she's just a pawn.
I miss young entertainers who paved their OWN way into the buisness and worked hard all on their own for their fame and adoration. THOSE are people to admire, and look up to. Even long after outgrowing the music, I still admire the stars from yester-year who worked for it. They leave an impression in my mind..
This Miley kid doesnt even hold a thought in my mind for more than 20 minutes....Its sad that thats all kids have to choose from anymore. They're really missing out.

I don't agree with the "screaming" part of her singing, though sometimes, rarely, she does yell. But you're right, there are people out there with way more talent than her.
I suppose looks will get one far in life, and that girl has the looks and the connections.

I'm 27 and I love her show LOL. My nieces are obsessed with her. I think for young kids, her show is a hit and that's what's made her such a huge deal.
Okay now you may have some issues with her.... but its all preference some people like her... personally i do. So a bunch of actors and actresses are only get into careers cuz of they're connections so what. you can't stop the rich getting richer!

I have no idea why. Maybe she is so famous because every little girl wishes to be her. She sings (though not well), acts (also not well), and is on television.
I could care less for her, she gets a record deal, concerts, cds, etc. when she can't even make any music and she's under 18.
I get offered a record deal and the second they find out I'm under 18 they reject me and stop replying to all my messages.

And, I agree with how she got into the entertainment business...I'm guessing her daddy pulled a few strings for her. She's EVERYWHERE, seriously. My best friend came home from Germany a couple of weeks ago and one of the first things he says to me is "Who the hell is Hannah Montanna...she's like the anti-christ and I can't get away from her" hahahaha.

Because even though she isn't the most talented "tween" star, she is the best role model for kids. She doesn't dress like a hooker, have mulitiple tatoos, any body piercings, or go out partying.

That can also be said about Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and that Rehab chick in Britain. The bottom line is she is popular with a group of kids (probably tweens and early teens) because of marketing. In a few years, that group will outgrow her and she'll be forgotten. It's happened with so many other child actor/singers that are the flavor of the month. Look at the boy bands. That group of girls that liked them outgrew them and by the time another generation comes along a few years later there is someone else. Now if I could just figure out why the world cares so much about the Britney Spears soap opera and why it is a top news story constantly...

cause kids thinks she's funny. they make the kids dance and laugh. have you noticed that in the show hannah montana, all her audience are kids? well her fans are all kids (who dont know anything about miley cyrus). they idolize her because she can sing (the kids think), she can dance (yuck), and she has a nice voice (not,,,ewwww)... all i can say is i hate her. kids will suddenly realize when they grow up that miley cyrus is a bad role model.
